Transplant Type - Kidney

During a routine check-up after experiencing some heart problems, blood work revealed that his creatinine levels were elevated. He was shocked to learn his kidneys were failing. Doctors said a kidney transplant was essential to his survival. Thankfully, he received his transplant on July 24, 2013!

This health scare has affected Yahya’s wife and three children a great deal, as he’s often exhausted and unable to do things with the family. He’s thankful to still have the energy to read—one of his favorite hobbies—but he looks forward to once again having a sense of normalcy in his life. More than anything, he dreams of spending many more years with his loved ones. But right now, he needs your help.

The average kidney transplant costs approximately $250,000. Even with health insurance, which will cover the cost of the transplant itself, he still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery. He will need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. These medications are very costly, and they’re as important to his survival as the transplant itself.

Yahya enjoyed his career as a restaurant manager for 30 years, but his declining health forced him to stop working, adding to the financial strain.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Yahya. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Florida Transplant Fund, 5350 Poplar Avenue, Suite 430, Memphis, TN 38119. Please be sure to write "in honor of Yahya Ghalayini" on the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
